Sine-tone WAV generator

Create a short, quiet sine tone as a downloadable WAV.

Start with low device volume. This creates a digital signal, not a calibrated hearing test. No microphone or autoplay.

How this tool works

A sine wave is sampled 48,000 times per second. Duration rounds to the nearest frame; a 5 ms linear fade at each edge reduces clicks. Peak percentage is digital amplitude, not loudness in decibels or a calibrated sound-pressure level. Hardware and device volume determine what you hear. Very high frequencies can be inaudible; do not turn the volume up to compensate.

Example: 440 Hz for one second creates 48,000 mono samples, with a 44-byte WAV header and 96,000 bytes of PCM data. Preview requires an explicit press of the audio play control. No microphone access is requested.

File-format references: Microsoft PCM format fields and RIFF chunk layout. Processing is local; output is an audio file, not an upload.
