How this tool works
The largest absolute PCM sample determines a single gain for the whole file: gain = 32767 × 10^(target dBFS / 20) / input peak. Every sample in every channel is multiplied by that gain and rounded to the nearest integer. Half values round toward positive infinity. Silence stays silent. Target range is −30 to −1 dBFS, up to two decimal places.
This adjusts sample peak, not perceived loudness. It is not LUFS normalization, true-peak limiting or noise removal; quieter noise can also become louder. Channel balance is preserved, but PCM rounding changes samples. Begin with low device volume. The output may sound much louder than the original.
Your original files are unchanged. New settings or file order clear the previous download. Stop processing keeps loaded files available; Clear files removes them from this page. Closing the page releases its working references; this is not a forensic memory-erasure guarantee.
Format references: Microsoft PCM format fields and RIFF chunk structure. Broad-format conversion is a separate planned workflow; this tool deliberately accepts the PCM subset stated above.
