How this tool works
Choose 4–24 frames. The range is divided into equal intervals and a frame is requested at each midpoint. The actual frame is the last one starting at or before that point. Its timestamp appears beneath the thumbnail, and both requested/actual times are included in the ZIP.
Each image is 320 × 180 pixels, with black bars when needed. Transparency is composited onto black. The contact sheet uses four columns. Download one sheet or a ZIP containing the sheet, all individual PNG frames and the timing details. This creates images; it does not include audio or preserve video metadata.
One video track is required. Audio and other tracks are ignored when making still images. The PNG and ZIP outputs contain images and timing details only; they do not carry audio, subtitles, chapters or source video tags. Your original file is unchanged.
Use a local file up to 64 MiB and five minutes, with at most 4,096 pixels per side and 8,294,400 pixels per frame. HDR input is unsupported. Transparent frames are composited onto black. Individual frame PNGs are limited to 16 MiB in total. Inspection stops after 30 seconds and processing after ten minutes. These limits do not guarantee every device has enough memory.
Stop processing keeps the selected file available. Clear file releases its working references. The sample is an original synthetic Toolfred file and never autoplays. Browser codec support varies; real-device coverage is still in progress. This is not an archival or professional color-fidelity workflow.
