CSV column profiler

See blanks, distinct values, repetition and numeric-looking cells in each column.

Your CSV

Inspect the shape before changing the data.

Each output row describes one source column. Blank includes empty and whitespace-only cells. Distinct nonblank values use exact text, so 001 and 1 differ. Duplicate excess is nonblank count minus distinct nonblank count. Minimum and maximum character lengths exclude blanks and count Unicode code points.

Plain-decimal counts use the same bounded decimal rules as the summary tool: up to 30 digits and 12 fractional digits, without currency signs, commas or exponents. A numeric-looking ID is still text. Profiling does not infer a schema, validate an import or certify that the data is correct.

Empty physical lines are ignored when reading a CSV. Explicit empty CSV records, such as a row of delimiters or a quoted empty field, are retained. Header names are trimmed and must be unique. Missing trailing cells become empty text. Record counts and issue numbers refer to the records retained after this reading step.
